£27,426 per year + 15% weekend allowance

We’re recruiting a General Operative / Handyperson to join the Facilities Management team at HMP Holme House on a permanent, full‑time basis. This is a stable role with regular hours, a supportive on‑site team and long‑term work on a Ministry of Justice contract.

Hours:

• 39 hours per week
• Mon–Thurs: 7:30am–4:00pm
• Fri: 7:30am–3:00pm
• 1 in 3 weekends (rota) – Sat & Sun 7:45am–4:00pm (paid at +15%)

What you’ll do:

• General maintenance and basic repairs
• Support skilled trades on site
• Carry out day‑to‑day FM tasks as directed

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in general maintenance / DIY / handyperson work
• Reliable, practical and willing to learn
• Able to work well as part of a team

Prison security clearance required and Standard DBS – supported by Amey).
